How often do you wake up in your East Riverside apartments feeling completely refreshed and revitalized? Sadly, a lot of Americans rarely enjoy this feeling in the morning. Humans have a troubled relationship with sleep, and one reason for that is because we often put sleep on the back burner when it comes to our priorities. Really, sleep should be one of the most important things in your life. If you start losing out on sleep, a lot of other parts of your life can start to suffer as well.
Your performance at work is never as strong when you don’t get at least 7 hours of sleep. We’re less likely to make healthy decisions when we lose out on sleep. Have you ever come home exhausted after a long day of work and immediately decided to order a pizza instead of cooking dinner? We’ve all been there, and we’d all like to live a little healthier whenever possible.
In this week’s post, we’re going to tell residents how to get higher quality sleep every night. The tips in this post are meant to be turned into habits, and they’ll only be effective if you repeat them with some consistency! Check ‘em out, and be sure to share this link with your friends and neighbors at your apartments on East Riverside.
Take a cold shower before bed
When your body senses that it’s time to go to bed, it starts to cool down. You can help your body cool down faster by hopping in the shower and turning the handle until the water is cool. This might be a shock at first, but your body will get used to it after awhile and begin lowering it’s internal temperature.
Work out before lunch
As we said before, your body has to cool down before you can fall asleep. Working out heats your body up, meaning it will take longer for your body to cool down when it’s time to go to bed. If you workout within a couple hours of going to bed, you’re going to be laying there awhile before you fall asleep. We recommend working out in the morning in order to avoid this issue. Plus, waking up early to workout will ensure you’re tired when it’s time to go to bed at night!
Get rid of tiny lights
We all own lots of little electronics, and most of those devices give off a little bit of light. When you turn off all the lights in your room, it should be completely dark. Your brain interprets any light that it senses as sunlight, and it can have damaging effects on the quality of your sleep. If you can’t remove the small lights from your room, take some time to cover them up with blankets or pillows.
