Where do you go when you’re in need of a delicious meal near your apartments on Lady Bird Lake? Everyone should have a go-to restaurant for when you come home and simply cannot stand the thought of cooking a big meal. If you don’t have one, you’ll appreciate this week’s blog post.

Below, you’ll find reviews for four of the neighborhood’s top-rated restaurants. We think reviews are the best way to figure out which restaurants are worth visiting, so we’ve decided to share some of the most interesting reviews with our residents!

Without further delay, let’s check out the list of restaurants below! When you’re done reading through this list, don’t forget to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your community of East Riverside apartments.

Hencho En Mexico

“This place offers a rare window into the wide variety of Mexican cuisine. The flavors are complex and interesting. We had Ceviche, Flautas, and Mole Blanco with shrimp.”

— Toni W.

Austin has more Tax-Mex restaurants that we could ever keep track of, but this city doesn’t have nearly enough authentic Mexican eateries. Lucky for residents of Mesh, one of the best interior Mexican restaurants is located just down the street from our apartment community. The seafood dishes are out-of-this-world good, and even the side dishes like chips and mole are super authentic. Mexico has incredible food, and it’s high time someone brought the country’s authentic tastes to Austin.

Opal Divine’s Austin Grill

“We sat outside and it was perfect! Even though it's over 90° out, the shade, breeze and fans made it quite pleasant.”

— Jennifer D.

You can pretty much count on it being over 90 degrees every day of the summer in Austin, which means there won’t be restaurants with comfortable outside seating. Residents of Mesh are in luck, however, because Opal Divine’s is one of those restaurants. This place serves handcrafted sandwiches, country food and breakfast dishes, but the highlight of the menu is the basket of fries that comes out perfectly seasoned.

Baby Acapulco’s

“The Chili relleno has yellow melty cheese on the inside and an egg battered poblano pepper on the outside which was smothered in a yummy red chili relleno sauce.”

— Stephanie A.

Better known as Baby A’s, this restaurant is located just down the street from Mesh and is famous for its purple margaritas. They’re strong but delicious, and they pair well with one of the appetizer sampler platters at this laid back Tex-Mex spot. As the review mentioned above, the chili relleno is amazing. This isn’t upscale Tex-Mex food by any means, but it’s well-made, affordable and served in a fun atmosphere.
