Welcome to another brand new blog post from your community of apartments on Lady Bird Lake! Here at Mesh apartments, we’re in the business of helping our residents. Our staff prides itself on being the most resident-friendly community in Austin, and we hope to boost that reputation with this blog post. In it, we’ll be sharing some interview tips that should help you land your dream job next time you’re in need of a new position.
Whether you’re looking for new work every day or you’re just open to new opportunities, it’s always a good time to brush up on your interview skills. If you’ve been working in the same office for awhile, you might be a little out of practice. The job market is more competitive than ever — as anyone who’s looking for new work knows — and you’ve got to find ways to stand out during the interview process.
Lucky for you, the staff at Mesh is here to help you do just that! Check out the blog post below, and when you’re done, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments on East Riverside.
Write down your best qualities ahead of time
A lot of people struggle to think of the things that make them great, especially when they’re put on the spot. Instead of practicing in the mirror or winging it during an interview, write down your best qualities ahead of time. An interview is one of the few times in life when you’ll be encouraged to brag about your character and your accomplishments, so you better be prepared to do just that!
Consider buying a new interview outfit
There is plenty of truth in the phrase, “look good feel good.” You probably felt really good about your standard interview outfit at one point, but does it still make you feel like a million bucks? If not, go get one that does. You might have to drop a little cash to get the new clothes, but interview clothes are an investment that pays dividends. Confidence is key, and few things give people the confidence of a brand new outfit.
Ask questions — lots of questions
People like to talk. A sign of a good interview is that you got the interviewer to talk more than you talked. If the person across from you talks for a while, they’ll leave the interview feeling good about it. They might not feel quite as good about it if they’re forced to listen to you talk for an hour straight. Come prepared with plenty of questions, and don’t feel like you have to wait until the end to ask them!
Those are all the interview tips we’ve got for you this week, residents!
