Furniture Tips from your East Riverside Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

What’s the first thing you did when you moved into our community of East Riverside apartments? You probably set up your bed, then your couch, then got tired and left the rest for later. That’s understandable, but now later has come and gone and you’re left with an apartment in dire need of a some interior design. It’s hard to find the perfect furniture for a new apartment, but we’ve got some tips that might make it a little easier.

In the blog post below, we’ll be sharing some advice with regards to furnishing a new apartment. We’ll be talking about the type of furniture you should buy, where you should put it, and how you can maximize your available floor space. Whether you’re new to the apartment life or you’ve been living in apartments for years, we think that the tips in this week’s post will help you make the most of your new space.

Let’s get right to the list of tips, shall we? When you’re done reading through this post, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments on East Riverside.

Look for Extra Storage

When living in an apartment, it’s a good idea to look for furniture that has extra storage space inside it. We’re talking about ottomans that open up, bed frames that have drawers underneath, and coffee tables that lift to reveal open storage space. By investing in furniture that has storage space inside, you can save yourself the headache of packing your extra storage pieces into your closet.

Keep Large Pieces Away from Entrances

One of the keys to creating an open, airy apartment is maintaining open sight lines. When you walk into your place, you should be able to see to the back wall. This is true for your front entrance, and the entrances to your living room and bedroom. The last thing you want to do is put large pieces near the entrances. We’re talking about things like couches, dressers and entertainment centers. Keep those big pieces near the back of the room so that you have clear sight lines when you walk in.

Invest in Versatile Pieces

As much as we love having you here at Mesh apartments, we understand that nobody lives in the same apartment forever. With that in mind, we encourage you to resist the urge to buy pieces that are, “absolutely perfect” for a certain spot in your apartment. While that corner desk might fit perfectly in the space between your TV and your window, it’s unlikely to fit anywhere else when you do decide to move. The more versatile furniture you buy now, the fewer new pieces you’ll have to buy when you do end up moving into a new place.
